What Is Right Coverage Rate?
Right coverage rate measures the share of a defender's routes defended where the receiver he was covering lined up on the offense's right. Sides are named from the offense's point of view throughout, so a corner with a high right coverage rate is physically stationed on the defense's left. Read it beside left coverage rate: a defender near either extreme is a locked-side corner who stays put, while a more even split means he travels with a receiver or moves inside to the slot. The two add to very close to 100%, because both divide by the same charted receiver-alignment population; the roughly one percent shortfall is routes whose formation does not resolve a side, excluded from both rather than assigned to one.
