What Is Right-Aligned Target Rate?

Right-aligned target rate is the percentage of a receiver's routes run on the offense's right that ended with a pass thrown his way. It is the same definition as Left-Aligned Target Rate and as Target Rate on the Cornerback+ pages, dividing by the routes actually run from that side rather than by snaps or overall attempts, so a receiver's right-side rate and a defender's rate allowed on the coverage boards read directly against each other. Left and right are derived from the charted formation order, resolve on about 98% of WR/slot routes, and are independent of the slot/perimeter split -- neither the two sides nor the two alignments add up to a whole.
