Catchable Air Yards quantify how many of a player's total air yards came on accurate, on-target throws within the receiver's catch radius. This metric separates true opportunity quality from total passing volume by isolating passes that could realistically be caught. It helps identify players with actionable opportunity, providing insight into expected fantasy points and efficiency models like Catchable Air Yard Rate (CAY%). "Catchable" is a judgment about accuracy, not distance: air yards can be negative (a screen or swing pass thrown behind the line of scrimmage still counts), and a negative-depth throw can still be catchable.
