What Is Right Alignment Rate?
Right Alignment Rate measures the percentage of a player’s dropback snaps taken lined up on the right side of the formation, outside the slot. This NFL advanced stat completes the Slot Rate picture in NFL player stats, showing how often a receiver or tight end works from the right perimeter rather than the left side or the slot. A high right alignment rate can point to a favorable matchup a coaching staff wants to feature, a specific split tendency, or a receiver who has earned a consistent role on one side of the field. Left Alignment Rate, Slot Rate and Right Alignment Rate do not add up to a player’s whole workload: for a pure outside receiver they account for nearly all of it, but backfield, in-line and move-TE snaps belong to none of the three, so a tight end or running back’s totals will fall well short of 100%.
