What Is Slot Target Rate Allowed?
Slot target rate allowed is the percentage of slot routes a defender covered that ended with a pass thrown his way. Dividing by routes defended rather than by snaps turns a volume number into a signal about trust: it answers whether quarterbacks choose to attack this man when he is inside, independent of how often he was on the field. The defenders at the bottom of this board are the ones offenses decide not to test, which is a compliment that never appears in yards or touchdowns allowed. It uses the same definition as Target Rate on the Cornerback+ pages and as Slot Target Rate on the receiver boards, so all three read against each other directly.
