Left-aligned receptions count the catches a receiver made on plays where he lined up on the offense's left. Comparing this against Left-Aligned Targets is a rough read on how catchable a receiver's left-side work is, and comparing his left and right reception totals against each other can surface a real side preference -- about a third of starting corners are side-loyal rather than receiver-loyal, so a receiver's production can genuinely differ by side depending on who he draws there most weeks. Left and right are derived from the charted formation order, not read from a labeled field, and resolve on about 98% of WR/slot routes. They are independent of the Slot & Perimeter+ split next door; left, right, slot and perimeter totals do not sum to a receiver's full route count.
