What Are Team Slot WR Targets?
Team slot WR targets count how many passes an offense threw to wide receivers lined up in the slot rather than out on the boundary. Offenses that live inside are usually built on timing and space -- quick game, option routes, and mismatches against a nickel or a linebacker -- while teams at the bottom of this board tend to ask their receivers to win outside instead. It is a volume number, so read it beside Team Slot Target Rate, which controls for how often those receivers actually ran slot routes. Targets to backfield and in-line alignments are counted on neither this board nor the perimeter one.
