11 personnel means one running back, one tight end and three receivers, and it is the base offense for most of the league. 11 personnel faced rate is the share of a defense's charted scrimmage snaps played against that grouping. A high rate is usually a statement about the schedule rather than the defense -- nobody chooses the personnel they see -- and it is the number to read first before judging a coverage or run-defense rate, because a unit that faces three receivers on nearly every snap is being asked a different question than one that does not. Rates across the published groupings do not sum to 100%, because snaps in groupings without their own page are counted but not shown, and plays with an extra offensive lineman are excluded as a different look entirely.
